My Journey

My coaching philosophy was forged through personal experience. In 2010, as a new supervisor of public school liaisons in NYC courthouses, I made a decision based solely on bureaucratic authority—changing my team's working hours to match a judge's preference without consultation. The misalignment with my collaborative values manifested physically as a debilitating back injury that took six months to heal.

This experience taught me that effective leadership within institutions requires balance: respecting the system while honoring your values and the people you lead. For 15 years, I've refined this approach across multiple roles—public school teacher, manager, non-profit administrator, district leader, and now as a coach and podcast host exploring how to create positive change from within institutions.
